In a randomized trial, we assigned patients with minor ischemic stroke or high-risk TIA to receive either clopidogrel at a loading dose of 600 mg on day 1, followed by 75 mg per day, plus aspirin (at a dose of 50 to 325 mg per day) or the same range of doses of aspirin alone. We tested this combination in an international population. A trial of combination antiplatelet therapy in a Chinese population has shown a reduction in the risk of recurrent stroke. Combination antiplatelet therapy with clopidogrel and aspirin may reduce the rate of recurrent stroke during the first 3 months after a minor ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). 6/28/2023 0 Comments Kerouac some of the dharmaWhile the focus of this paper is on the exploration of these two texts, their content and structure, one cannot ignore the influencing factors that led Kerouac to write them and the aspects of his life that affected the way in which they were composed. The two Kerouac texts that are to be explored here are Some of the Dharma and The Scripture of the Golden Eternity. Kerouac’s ‘Buddhist’ texts are not as well known as his others, although many of his more popular books include elements of Buddhism. This paper examines his Buddhist life and texts, and explores two of his Buddhist books while focusing on his influences, their effects on his personal life and the impact these had on his writing and on Buddhism in America. Jack Kerouac’s place in the literary world was secured in the 1950s with the publication of On the Road however, his position as a Buddhist writer and practitioner was yet to be established. Why was the Helga series kept secret? For art, love, or publicity? This series of antique portrait paintings was only revealed by Wyeth after he contracted the flu at age 68 and feared he was dying. It is a rare and serendipitous occurrence in the art world to discover a previously unknown work by a great artist, but discovering an entire series of sketches and paintings in an entire collection - over 240 - all kept hidden away by the artist himself is unheard of. By this time, Wyeth was already a behemoth of 20th-century American painting and American fine art, and the series that would come to be known as The Helga Pictures cemented his legacy as one of the greatest and most enigmatic American artists in history. The only other person who knew about them was the model - their neighbor, Helga Testorf. In the Summer of 1985, while on a drive in their eggplant-colored Stutz Blackhawk, Andrew Wyeth revealed to his wife that he had been working on a series of paintings for the past 15 years without her knowledge. The ethnographer’s role is to observe and analyse a culture by interpreting signs to understand deeper meanings within the context of that culture. In The Interpretation of Cultures, Clifford Geertz outlines in broader sense the job of an ethnographer. 6/27/2023 0 Comments The soldier neal asherShe thinks the rewards are worth the risks, but all that is about to change.
